I was six years old when The State premiered on MTV and I remember sneakily watching it with a friend at her house because my parents were not down with MTV, at all. 

Thus began my 10 year long love affair with Showalter/Black/Wain. 

When Wet Hot American Summer came out I was barely 13 years old. It taught me everything I needed to know about gay sex, summer camp, and how to get boys to like me (stick my tongue down their throats).
